God’s Gift

On Monday, November 12, my doctor appointment with the OBGYN enlightened us on how Little Boy Rensburg was progressing growth wise and with his preparedness for delivery. Through the ultra sound we discovered that he was back into a transverse position, a position he found very comfortable and seemed to have been in during most of my pregnancy. This position however does not allow for a normal delivery. Our doctor gave us a few options as to what we could do to change this and encourage a normal delivery. Deon and I were a bit apprehensive towards one of the options taking us to the Lord in prayer and asking for His guidance in making the right decision.

We didn’t have much time to actually think over the options before the Lord answered our prayer. On Wednesday, November 14, at 02h30 our little boy made sure I was awake and he let me know that he was going to make his entrance into this world today! My water had broken which meant that we needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible so as not to put our baby or myself in any danger.  After checking in and the doctor examining me we found out that our baby had moved once again and was now in a breech position. The doctor advised us that a caesarean section was the safest way to proceed and within five hours after arriving at the hospital I was taken into surgery to have our baby.

Baby Boy Rensburg did not enter into this world very easily giving the doctors a few problems by “getting stuck.” When I look back on the days leading up to November 14 and on the day itself I’m reminded of God’s provision and care for our family. We thank the Lord so much for taking care of us and blessing us with not only Ruan but with our newly arrived little Jesse Dean Janse van Rensburg as well.

Pappa & Jesse

We chose the name Jesse because of what it means, God’s Gift! He reminds us of the love the Lord has for us in not only giving us the desires of our heart through blessing us with our boys but through the Ultimate Gift of sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins so that the whole world may have eternal life. Jesse’s name will always remind us of that Great Gift. This gift is a gift given to ALL to receive if they would only ask and accept it. Our prayer today is not only for our own boys, Ruan & Jesse, to accept Christ as their Savior but to all the Lord will bring along our path as we serve Him together as a family. His middle name means churchman and was given to him in honor of my Mom. She is a godly example to me of what a daughter, wife, mother & friend should be as well as an example of how to use ones life to the glory of the Lord. I thank the Lord for placing me in a family here on earth that loves Him and wants to whole-heartedly serve Him until His return.

Ouma, Judie Dene, & Jesse Dean

We would like to thank all of our friends and family for praying for little Jesse Dean and for our family as we serve our Lord and Savior by telling others about “God’s Gift” in the Western Province of South Africa!
