Matron of Honor vs. Ring Bearer
Weddings are an exciting time in the lives of families. The privilege to see your loved ones unite as one is a day not to be missed. We are looking forward to enjoying a day like that with Deon’s sister, Lydia, and her fiancĂ© this coming July!
Some of Those Plans Involve our Family:
Ruan has been asked to be a ring bearer and I was asked to be one of Lydia’s matrons of honor. Ruan has no idea of what his position holds on the day. We as his parents will find it fun to watch him be a part of his aunt’s special day, mainly hoping he’ll keep the pillow upright and make it down the aisle without any stage fright!
I, on the other hand, understand the meaning of being asked to be in someone’s wedding and find it an honor to have been asked by my sister-in-law. When Lydia asked me I wasn’t sure how to respond… Why?
The Reason for My Uncertainty:
I’ve been told instead of being a matron of honor maybe the ring bearer would be a more appropriate option in my case! Ruan would have no need to carry a pillow but just hold my hand as I carried the rings! Ha, ha!! The reason for this joke and many others is because I’m pregnant! Deon & I look forward to welcoming our third child in October!

We are very excited about another SWEET BLESSING being added to our family. We would greatly appreciate your prayers as we complete the next six months of our nine-month journey!
