Christ, the Only Way!

School "vacations" are at different times of the year than in the USA. Here in South Africa they also have a different name - they are called "school holidays." During the "school holiday" this past month our church-plant, Swartland Baptiste Gemeente, was given the opportunity to host a "Holiday" Bible Club at a Christian primary school in town. A team of people from a fellow-church planter’s Home Church in the United States was here ministering alongside he and his family and offered to lead this special "Holiday" Bible Club.

Bible Story Time -
presented by Peter Manwiller

Many families in our town are away during this school holiday. The three-day Bible Club didn’t start off, as many would have hoped for ... and we started with three children in attendance that first day. My husband reminded us all that we must not be discouraged for the angels will rejoice over one soul being saved! With that in mind we continued to pray for the children in Malmesbury and in our church! But don't be discouraged ... by the third day the Lord blessed and we had 17 children come on the final day!

All of these children were presented with the gospel through the Theme: "Christ the Only Way" and through Bible stories and songs. Many of the team members were given opportunities to share their own testimonies of God’s love through the friendships they built during this time.

We would like to ask that you, our prayer supporters, please be praying for these 17 children:

  1. That we would be able to keep in contact with them and see them attend our youth nights so that we can further teach them from God’s Word.
  2. The parents of these children. That we would be able to see them come to know the Lord as their Savior and have a ministry in their lives through our church-planting ministry.

Thank you High Point Baptist Chapel for ministering to the children of our church. Your ministry here in the Cape was of a great encouragement to us all. The Lord has used you greatly for His glory!

A special thank you to, Jessica Manwiller, for the beautiful pictures!
