When hearing the word, teenager, what is the first thing you think of? Many people in ministry would not have a positive outlook on teenagers mostly because it is believed that they are one of the most difficult age-group to minister to. People tend to avoid ministering to them and they end up mostly forgotten. I’m so thankful to the Lord that my husband is just the opposite. When he hears the word teenager he responds with, “What can we do to share the gospel with them and encourage them to grow in the Lord?”

Our church plant, Swartland Baptiste Gemeente, has started a new class on Sunday mornings to meet our teenagers needs. Deon along with my niece & nephew have been serving the Lord together amongst the teenagers of Malmesbury. We would like to ask that you please be praying for the five teenagers that we have attending our new church plant that they would grow in the Lord. Please pray, as well, that they would be encouraged (through the teaching that they receive from God’s Word) to share the gospel with their friends and family.

Prayer & Praise

•     We praise the Lord for answered prayer: A family in our church found an apartment for us to live in after we unexpectedly had to move out of our home in Durbanville due to problems with mold. We are excited to be living in Malmesbury!
•      We would like to thank all of our prayer partners for praying for us as we attended Tygerberg Baptiste Gemeente’s Missions Conference. Deon was given the opportunity to preach from God’s Word and to share our heart and our ministry with this local church. We were greatly encouraged by our brothers and sisters in Christ. They are faithfully praying for us.
•      Please pray for us as we continue to make our plans to return to the United States in November 2013.  We will be continuing our USA deputation ministry. We will focus on visiting churches along the East Coast. Please pray specifically that we would find churches that would be able to support us financially so that we can return to our ministry of serving the Lord in South Africa.
