This weekend of March 17th and 18th was a real blessing for us. I was so thankful to see my husband’s four years of hard work and serious ministry recognized in such a Christ honoring way.

Deon Receiving his Certificate |
On March 17th The ordination service began with Deon receiving his certificate of completion with the Church Ministries Institute and with Deon & I sharing our testimonies of how the Lord has guided us through our lives to bring us to this point of service for Him.

Sharing Our Testimonies |
When he stood in front of a panel of eight pastors and the representatives from Bible-believing churches, he answered all the questions they had concerning the Lord and His Word completing the ordination examination in such a clearly Biblical way! After Deon’s examination we enjoyed a Tea Time while the pastors met to make their decision. This gave us opportunity to talk with our friends and family that came to support Deon on this very special day.

Deon's Examination |
The Independent Baptist churches in the Western Cape Province, South Africa represented that day voted unanimously to ordain him as a Minister of the Gospel.

Tygerberg Baptist Church Choir |
The service then continued with the choir from Tygerberg Baptiste Gemeente singing. I enjoyed singing again in the Choir the Lord has used my Mom to lead and encourage. Rev. Dave Rudolph, a friend of our family, encouraged all there and Deon and I, as a couple in ministry, on how to continue serving the Lord with our lives now that we have taken this step to become church planting missionaries.

Praying for Deon |
We had such a blessed time with our brothers and sisters in Christ that day. We would like to thank everyone who attended and were involved for their love, encouragement and support throughout the years. Some were not able to come but sent letters and notes of encouragement. The Lord was certainly honored.
Thanks for sharing! Brad and I would have loved to have been there. You will both be in our prayers! It is great to see your excitement for the Word of God and desire to minister.
